Concert: Synesthetic4

With Synesthetic4 comes the current winner of the Austrian Jazz Award 2024 in the category Best Live Act to the Alte Gerberei! Founded in 2017 by Vincent Pongrácz and Peter Rom, the quartet made a name for itself with concerts on highly renowned stages (Jazzfest Saalfelden, Ljubljana Jazz Festival, Jazzwerkstatt Bern, April Jazz, Vienna Concert House, Orbit Jazz Johannesburg): The program, in which elements of contemporary music, rap, jazz, funk, and electronics blend atmospherically, moves “confidently between madness and humor” (© Tom Gasteiger). The ensemble, which provides the “colorful daydream” and “creative virtuosity” (© Austrian Sounds), also consists of Manuel Mayr and Andreas Lettner. For the performance in St. Johann, saxophonist Yvonne Moriel replaces the absent guitarist Peter Rom – she recently won the Austrian Jazz Award 2024 in the category Best Newcomer! A real hit!
