Not enough that three long-time masters of advanced jazz music – Ochs, Dresser, and Tarasov – come together as the trio Jones Jones to create touching, sometimes meditative, then again explosive music sets… now this legendary supergroup has been expanded to a quintet, featuring none other than Angelika Hagen (founding member and violinist of the Hagen Quartet) and Andi Schreiber (ex-rock musician, according to the Austrian Music Encyclopedia one of the most prominent representatives of his instrument in Europe) who bring completely new tonal colors to the band. We know Larry Ochs, among others, from the Rova Saxophone Quartet, Mark Dresser for decades as one of the profound masters of contemporary jazz music, Vladimir Tarasov not least as the drummer of the Soviet jazz pioneers of the Ganelin Trio. A musical high mass!
