Styrian Weeks with Live Music

It marked a truly memorable moment in the cultural life of the St. Johann in Tirol region: the first meeting of the improv orchestra free music st johann in November 2015. Musicians from various styles, in a colorful variety of instruments and voices, came together to regularly and consistently make music, experiment with sounds, and pay homage to Free Improvisation. After performances at the ORF Studio Innsbruck, the Wiener Echoraum, the Alte Schlachthof Wels, the Salzburger jazz:it, and at the festivals artacts and Klangspuren Schwaz, they now celebrate their 10th stage anniversary. For this occasion, they invited the internationally renowned trumpeter Franz Hautzinger into the band!

Beforehand, the film Time Turners will be screened. The documentary by Kibidoué Eric Bayala (director), Marco Friedrich Trenkwalder, and Stefan Huber (cinematography) seeks a dialogue with Tyrolean cultural creators and focuses on their engagement with a pressing issue of our time: the handling of borders, migration, and the question of how exchange can take place. free music st johann provided the live soundtrack for this artwork.
