Event information

St. Johann in Tyrol has outstanding ecclesiastical historical significance as the original parish of the Leukental valley and a former pastoral residence of the Bishops of Chiemsee. Therefore, there are several significant sacred buildings in the town, which is why the community earned the nickname “Baroque St. Johann.” During a guided tour through the town center, museum director Peter Fischer talks about ambitious construction projects and gifted artists, as well as notable bishops and priests with extravagant lifestyles. He reports on the rich mountain blessing that enabled the Baroque monuments and explains the problems caused by the plague and floods.

Number of participants: Max. 25 people only with registration
