Join us on an exciting journey of discovery through the mysterious world of the bog! On this guided hike, we will dive deep into the fascinating nature and experience how lively and diverse this landscape is. We will not only admire the famous carnivorous sundew but also learn about the intriguing story of the bog spirit that has accompanied this mystical terrain for centuries.
Along the way, many questions will be answered that bring us closer to the bog: How and when did bogs form? Why are these ecosystems so important to all of us? What unique plants thrive here, and why are there no fish in the bog water? Let yourself be enchanted by the diversity of flora and fauna and discover how important bogs are for the climate and ecological balance.
This hike will become an unforgettable experience where you can perceive nature with all your senses and understand how much life and mystery are hidden in a seemingly quiet bog.
Duration: Total approx. 3 h
The guided hike is free with the St. Johann Card (€ 10 without guest card). Discount available with guest cards from the regions of St. Johann in Tirol, PillerseeTal, Brixental, and Hohe Salve. Dogs are not allowed!
Registration by the day before at 4 PM at the information office in St. Johann in Tirol, Oberndorf, Kirchdorf, or online.
Changes to the hiking routes may be made by the mountain guide before the tour begins or during the day. We ask for your understanding if participants with inadequate equipment cannot be taken along.
The guided hike is free with the St. Johann Card (€ 10 without guest card). Any taxi and mountain railway costs are to be paid by the participants themselves. Dogs are not allowed! No registration required. Equipment: good hiking shoes (no sneakers), suitable clothing, drinks! and snacks, rain jacket, sun protection, backpack, and hiking poles if available. (Hiking poles can also be rented on site.)
