NEW from mid-September 2025: Instead of paying directly upon entry, toll payment will now take place in a relaxed manner upon exit. This allows guests to focus right from the start on what matters most – the beautiful nature and the joy of staying in the Kaiserbach Valley.
A new, friendly signage concept guides you step by step through the process, and a screen at the exit provides an overview of whether the toll has already been paid. This makes the payment process a minor detail – and the visit remains a wonderful memory.
The payment is straightforward and takes only four steps:
Especially practical: Parking throughout the entire valley area is included in the toll fee. The fee is charged per entry into the valley and can also be paid via mobile up to 24 hours after entry. Additionally, entry is toll-free daily between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
Information about Kaiserbach Valley:
The Kaiserbach Valley in the Kaisergebirge Nature Reserve extends from the Kirchdorf district of Griesenau to the Stripsenjoch, surrounded by the Wilden Kaiser to the east and by the Feldberg and Zahmen Kaiser region to the north. Covering 10,200 hectares, the entire nature reserve offers a unique flora and fauna in the northern limestone Alps. The Kaiserbach Valley is the starting point for countless summit ascents, challenging climbing and skiing tours in the Kaisergebirge. The ridge hike from Stripsenjoch over the Feldberg rewards with magnificent views. The cozy walk along the wild-romantic Kaiserbach in the valley is very valuable in terms of landscape – in both summer and winter. Summit names such as Predigtstuhl, Fleischbank, or Totenkirchl testify that the Kaisergebirge can also harbor dangers. The memorial chapel in Kaiserbach Valley (built in 1984) commemorates the victims. From Griesenau, a 5 km toll road leads to an elevation of 1024 m, directly in front of the imposing mountain massif of the Wilden Kaiser. It also gives visitors access to this bizarrely romantic mountain world, whether arriving by car or by bus.
