The San Francisco-born, New York-based trumpeter Ralph Alessi is rightly regarded as one of the most exciting, creatively competent, and notably forward-thinking musicians of contemporary jazz. The New York Times praises the “elegant precision and power” of his extraordinary talents, and his exceptional album series as a bandleader on ECM has been showered with acclaim. In his trio, two other true masters of contemporary jazz music join him: the French master guitarist Marc Ducret and the legendary New York drummer Jim Black.
