Diverse hike on a quiet plateau with different karst formations and dry Alpine pastures. Areas covered by mountain pines, various mixed forests and continual views in all directions round off this mountain experience. The route leads over climbs, meadow paths and roads. It is classed as medium difficulty.
The long-distance hikers head downhill to the Baumoosalm Alpine pasture and onto the finish point of the KAT Walk. On KAT Walk Alpine stage 6 / Compact stage 5, the herd of goats has quickly made itself noticed. The last stage of the KAT Walk features a range of Alpine pastures with stunning panoramic views. Along the hike through the Alpine pasture landscape, KAT Walkers can switch off and stock up on energy. After six stages, 106 km and 6,350 m of altitude difference, the long-distance hikers have reached the end of the KAT Walk. Just a few metres to go until the long-distance hikers reach the summit at sunrise on the last KAT Walk stage.
I personally had loads of highlights. There was so much to take in every day, I have only been able to process it all at home. I am delighted and grateful to have done the KAT Walk with my husband. I got to know some fantastic and nice people!

In addition to breathtaking viewpoints and magically beautiful locations, the hospitality of our accommodations was our highlight. Especially if you arrive after a cold, rainy or snowy day and the sauna has already been preheated.
