This stage connects the Leukental valley with the Pillerseetal valley and is one of the most pleasant days of the tour. The route mainly runs along well-maintained cycle paths and quiet side roads and has a balanced elevation profile with moderate climbs. The stage starts in St. Johann in Tirol. It initially leads out of the valley through the Leukental valley, passing the turnoff to the scenic Kaiserbachtal valley. Via Schwendt and Kössen, the route continues towards Erpfendorf and Waidring, always on the Kalksteinrunde cycle path. The Pillersee lake offers another atmospheric section before you reach the center of St. Ulrich am Pillersee. With the imposing Jakobskreuz cross on the Buchensteinwand mountain always in view, the stage leads past the Wiesensee lake to Hochfilzen. Here you reach the highest point of the stage and then ride down to Fieberbrunn, where the stage ends, with a relaxed view of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range.
