Tour information

Arrival: Via the A12 motorway, exit Wörgl Ost, in the direction of Kitzbühel until Bruckhäusl.. Take the road to the right there and follow the sign Brixental and Hopfgarten. In Hopfgarten, after the railway underpass, go straight on to Kelchsau and further on to the junction Kurzer Grund and langer Grund. Take the left road to Langer Grund and park the car at the inn Gasthaus Wegscheid (free parking). Ascent: From the parking lot at GH Wegscheid follow the forest road for about 200 m. Turn right then and continue on the marked path (Bamberger Hütte) into the forest. Stay on this “winter path” and walk past the idyllically situated pasture Kuhwildalm until you finally arrive at the Neue Bamberger Hütte.

Getting there Coming from Innsbruck/Munich: A12 exit Wörgl Ost – feeder road B178 towards St. Johann i. T. & Kitzbühel – after the tunnel, take the exit towards Hopfgarten – at the roundabout, take the B170 towards Hopfgarten – turn right under the underpass and over the bridge towards Kelchsau – drive into the valley on the L205 Kelchsauer Straße for approx. 10 km until you reach the toll booth (car toll EUR 5)
Coming from Kitzbühel: B170 Brixentalstraße towards Wörgl – in Hopfgarten, before the second railway underpass, turn left over the bridge towards Kelchsau – approx
