Route 297 leads from Westendorf via Bahnhofstraße to the district of Moosen. From there, the road winds steadily uphill along the Salvenberg. Passing the Alpine School, we come to a sharp left-hand bend and a barrier for cars (altitude approx. 1,150 m). We drive around this and after a short time the asphalt road turns into a gravel alpine path. After a few hairpin bends, we reach a beautiful, secluded reservoir. It is well worth stopping briefly to take a short walk around the lake, if only for the beautiful view. Now we continue uphill towards Kälbersalvenalm. Just below the alpine buildings, we keep straight ahead or turn left on the road, passing below the Salvensee lake and bypassing the alpine pasture. After a fairly steep, short climb, we reach the highest point of the bike tour, below the Foisching Bahn mountain station. Please park your bikes so that hikers and cyclists can use the route without obstruction. Please also lock your bikes! Now begins the climb to the Hohe Salve, which is quite steep in places but only about 200 metres in altitude!Connection to tours 268 and 269.Please note: You will be cycling and hiking on the southern slope the whole time, so it is often very sunny and hot!
