The world's toughest adventure race is entering its next round as the 12th edition of the Red Bull X-Alps kicks off in 2025!
For almost two weeks, 35 athletes from 17 countries will battle their way across the Alps on foot and by paraglider, covering up to 150km a day and passing by legendary mountain peaks and towns such as Kirchberg and Kitzbühel.
The race is considered the ultimate test of body and mind: 4,000 metres of ascent per day, up to 100 km of walking, extreme weather conditions - a challenge that only the world's best hike-and-fly athletes can meet. Among them: defending champion Chrigel Maurer, who is aiming for another victory, and Celine Lorenz (GER2), who is the only woman competing again.
If you can hardly wait, you can follow the athletes every step of the way via live tracking at the prologue on 12th June 2025 and the start of the race on 15th June 2025.

Red Bull X-Alps Route 2025
The longest route ever has been unveiled and is full of surprises. Multiple via ferratas, an X-turn and a horizontal figure-eight course will present the athletes with unprecedented challenges.
In June 2025, athletes will tackle the most challenging route yet and prove why the Red Bull X-Alps is the world's toughest adventure race. At 1.283 km, the route is longer than ever before. 16 turnpoints are spread across five countries: Austria, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. The start and finish will once again be in Austria, but for the first time since 2019, the race will go deep into the mountains of France - all the way to Les 2 Alpes.
